Kraken by China Miéville
I’ve made a bit of progress on this book. I’m savoring it though and that’s why it’s taking so long for me to read it.
You really have to read this book properly. If you even miss one sentence then you’ll be left in a state of confusion. It’s one of the wonderful things about this book. It’s like a lesson in how to read properly.
Maybe I’ll have this finished before Easter. Hopefully.
The Scorch Trials by James Dashner
I’ve just started this book today. I’m already on chapter 15 and I plan on reading more of it tonight.
I’m loving it so far but I loved The Maze Runner so I’m not surprised I’m enjoying the sequel too.
I don’t think it’ll take me too long to finish this book.
Zofloya: or The Moor by Charlotte Dacre
I LOVED THIS BOOK!
It’s an amazing book from an amazing female author. It’s all about female sexuality and female autonomy in a wonderful Gothic setting. There’s a lot of gory bits too to get your teeth into.
Don’t be fooled by the anti-feminist and racist first impressions of Zofloya because Charlotte Dacre deserves more credit than those awful labels. Everything is a subtle criticism on the ideals of the time and it’s just amazing.
I’d really recommend this book. It’s a bloodbath of sexuality.
What I’m reading next:
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J. K. Rowling
I didn’t manage to read this in February like I originally planned but I will read it in March at some point.
I’m reading this book as part of my self-made re-read challenge. I read the first two books in the Harry Potter series in January so I’m looking forward to continuing with this challenge in March.
