WWW Wednesday is a feature hosted by Taking On a World of Words.
The only rules are to answer the following three questions:
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
I haven’t done a WWW Wednesday post in almost two years but I wanted to try it out again this month to see if I liked the feature. I’m not sure it’ll be a regular thing on my blog for the rest of the year but it will be in February.
Currently Reading:
- Smoke and Mirrors by Neil Gaiman
This has been a slow read since it’s a collection of short stories and I only pick it up once every couple of days. I hope to finish it by the end of the week though.
Recently Finished:
- Nothing
Up Next:
- East of Eden by John Steinbeck
- The House of Mirth by Edith Wharton
- Howards End by E M Forster
- The Essex Serpent by Sarah Perry
One of these books will be my next read. I just haven’t decided which yet.
That’s it for this WWW Wednesday! What have you been reading recently?

I have yet to read Neil Gaiman. Would this short story book be a good place to start?

I’m a big fan of Neil Gaiman and I’d recommend starting with one of his novels as they’re more well-developed – possibly either Neverwhere or Good Omens (co-written with Terry Pratchett) 🙂

Good Omens is definitely a good shout! I haven’t read Neverwhere yet so it’s probably a better place to start than American Gods (which was my first Neil Gaiman solo novel) 🙂

Oh wow, as much as I love American Gods I’m impressed you made it through! Neverwhere has all the great points of American Gods, it’s just shorter and set in London so slightly easier to relate to geographically for me 😅

I didn’t know it was set in London! That would be easier for me to relate to too 🙂

Yup – mostly on the tube too which I found very unique!

I think so! Some of his novels are really long so this book would be a nice way to get to know his work. Also, it really shows off how weird and varied his writing can be 🙂
