The Sunday Post is hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer. Sunday Salon is hosted by Readerbuzz.
This post is an opportunity to recap the past week on my blog and in my personal life. It’s also a chance to set up some goals for the upcoming week and share the music/films/TV shows/podcasts that I’ve loved this week.
The only good part of this week is that Lent is finally over today and I can eat chocolate again.
I had a migraine on Wednesday and the after-effects continued into Thursday so that wasn’t fun.
I did finish reading The Major Works of John Donne which means I only have one book left from my original Classics Club Challenge list – which is unbelievable – and I’m going to try to read that book next week.
February and March 2020 Reading Stats
- First Chapter First Paragraph Tuesday Intros #4 – How We Disappeared by Jing-Jing Lee
- Shelf Control #8 – The Beautiful and Damned by F. Scott Fitzgerald
- Book Review: The Major Works of John Donne
- TBR Update: Japanese Literature
- Book Review: Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes
The Major Works of John Donne – I’ve already posted a review of this book which wasn’t really a review but, oh well. I really enjoyed reading this and getting to know Donne’s poetry a little more. I found some new favourite poems, particularly To His Mistress, and I liked reading the sermons and letters that were included in the collection too.
How We Disappeared by Jing-Jing Lee – I started this on Friday and I’ve almost finished it. I did intend to start it earlier in the week but that didn’t work out so I’m reading it now instead. I hope to have it finished by the end of today – mainly so that I can review it as soon as possible – but we’ll see.
Stay safe everyone!

I do wish I had read more of his poems before this but I had read many of his sermons so at least I knew who he was! His poetry is so interesting 🙂

How exciting to be so close to the completion of your Classics Club list! Have you started compiling books for your second list? That’s fun, too, and now seems like a good time.
Hurray for chocolate! I think I shall add some to my Kroger order at the end of this week.
I’m curious about How We Disappeared. Please let us know what you think about this one soon.

I’ve just started thinking about the second list! I’m going to compile a massive list and then narrow it down to 50 🙂
I’ve almost finished How We Disappeared so I should have a post up about it soon!

My husband is still feeling the after effects of his migraine from yesterday 😦 I haven’t read Donne since college but remember really liking him. Happy Easter.

That was very brave of you, giving up chocolate for Lent. I hope your first piece now that it’s over will be extra delicious. I hope you are feeling better after that nasty Migraine. I hope you are enjoying How We Disappeared. I read it last year and loved it.
I hope you have a good week. Stay safe and well.

I almost always give chocolate up for Lent! I once gave up caffeine and that was a mistake but it was a difficult year for lent due to the current situation.
I’ve really enjoyed reading How We Disappeared. It’s such an interesting book 🙂

Glad you can eat chocolate again! It looks like you just posted a review for Don Quixote. I’ve read excerpts on and off in college but I have been meaning to read the whole thing soon. I hope you had a wonderful Easter weekend.
